These groups consist of representatives from different relevant sectors, civil society, and experts in the field.
Speaking on this occasion, the National Delegate for Child Protection, Meriem Cherfi, said that the draft of this plan essentially includes “an assessment of the achievements made nationwide for children, along with future obstacles and challenges.”
She said that the main objective is “the establishment of a framework setting out the strategic orientations and national priorities for better dealing with childhood issues in a secure environment, allowing the proper development of the child, away from any danger.”
The members of the committee tasked with developing this plan have been divided into five workshops and working groups that will deliberate several issues, such as the social prosperity of children within the family, social programs, leisure time, culture and sports, and the quality of services for children.
In this regard, Cherfi said that the work of these groups refers to “Algeria’s key achievements in child protection and promotion,” noting that the plan would be submitted next year to the High authorities of the country for approval for the period of 2024-2029.
