Oued El Harrach development project, with a length of 67km, including 18.2km in the capital, comprises operations centered around dredging and slope protection, constructing retaining walls, landscaping and cleaning up Oued El Harrach basin, which crosses four provinces in the central region of the country.
It also provides for the modernization and smartening up of Algiers’ seafront through the development of several green spaces and places of leisure and relaxation.
Launched in June 2012, the development works of Oued El Harrach lagged far behind.
In April 2021, the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune ordered the relaunch of the development projects for Oued El Harrach, before giving instructions, in early 2022, to speed up the completion of the works of Oued El Harrach integrated project, so that this strategic project for the capital could see the light of day.
