Goudjil calls on youth to strengthen trust in their abilities, State’s institutions

CONSTANTINE- The Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Salah Goudjil, called Monday the young people to strengthen confidence in their abilities and in the State’s institutions as well as in the effectiveness of the democratic practice as a tool for reform and development.

[ecr] "Young people are called to work in order to make their mark on the process of building a strong and flourishing Algeria in accordance with the commitment of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and this through the effective participation in political life far from conspiratorial and skeptical voices," said Mr. Goudjil in a letter read on his behalf by Senator Ahmed Kharchi as part of this institution's participation in the regional forum on "Democracy among young people, today's youth, tomorrow's decision-makers," held in the Ahmed Bey hall in Constantine.

The forum was held in the presence of the Ministers of Youth and Sports, Abderrahmane Hammad, of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Faycal Bentaleb, of Relations with the Parliament, Basma Azouar, the President of the High Council of Youth (CSJ), Mustapha Hidaoui and the governor of Constantine, Abdelkhalek Sayouda, surrounded by young people representing 15 provinces of the country’s East.

Goudjil also called on the young people to "preserve the national unity and defend the gains of the November revolution," considering that "the most palpable indicator of the success of the process of change, reform, development and stability is the degree of the participation of young people's forces in the democratic transition to set challenges and solutions in order to position themselves in the world of politics thanks to the sincere political will and encouraging institutional environment and favorable legislative system".

This comes, according to Goudjil, "by encouraging young people to get involved in participatory democracy for the national interest and by working to establish confidence in the mechanisms of the democratic system".

The Council of the Nation participated through its members, Mohamed Larbi Slimani and Issam Nechma, in leading the forum's workshops, namely "democracy among young people" by discussing various topics including "analysis of the role of stakeholders in decision-making", "the development of decision-making skills among young people" in addition to their participation in a debate session on "the state's efforts to promote political participation among young people".
