In a speech given during a national seminar on “Social Development and Economic Perspectives," attended by the advisor to the president of the Republic in charge of political affairs and relations with youth, civil society and political parties, Mohamed Chafik Mesbah, governors and representatives of official bodies, the minister emphasized “the president of the Republic’s commitment to enshrine the social character of the Algerian State, being aware of the reality of the citizen’s daily life.”
She said that “the solidarity sector has ensured the care of vulnerable categories through several programs focused on integrating them into socio-economic life, serving as a main objective in the development process.”
This meeting was organized in coordination with the ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning, as well as the ministry of Post and Telecommunications.
Krikou also brought up the initiatives launched by her sector, particularly collective development and funding for profitable projects by civil society players, with over 626 projects by the end of 2023.
The minister also revealed that the number of projects in the labor-intensive public works program amounts to 872 public utility projects, generating 9,957 temporary jobs.
As for the lump-sum solidarity allowance, the number of beneficiaries stands at over 1.3 million beneficiaries that the sector is working to integrate into economic life.
The number of women who received microcredits, through the intersectoral program to back women’s participation in national production, has reached over 27,257, while 27,549 women received vocational training, the minister added
Proximity units within the Ministry have conducted 21,612 social surveys.
Also, the number of women artisans is 137,849, who have created over 84,993 jobs across 1,272 municipalities.
