ALGIERS- Minister of National Solidarity, the Family and the Status of Women Kaouter Krikou told the United Nations Security Council in New York on Wednesday that the empowerment of women has been a top priority for the Algerian state since independence, in recognition of the major role they have played in the country's history, particularly during the Glorious Liberation Revolution.
