Krikou stresses prominent position of women in President Tebboune’s institutional project

ALGIERS – The Minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs Kaouter Krikou stressed on Saturday, in Algiers, the prominent position of women in the institutional project of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

On the occasion of an information day entitled “Algerian Women, Work and Excellence” jointly organized by her ministry, the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) and Algerie Telecom to mark World Labour Day, the minister said in her speech that this meeting “aims to be a participatory platform to showcase the work and excellence of Algerian women.”

She further commended the prominent position that women have in the institutional project of the President of the Republic, reflecting his confidence in their scientific and creative abilities to bring his constructive commitments to fruition.”

The minister noted the “major achievements obtained by Algerian women in the constitution that enshrined the principle of parity between men and women in the labor market, bolstered their position in national development, promoted their access to all positions of responsibility and advanced their political rights” in addition to protecting them against all forms of violence. 

During this meeting, Krikou announced the “rollout of a new edition of Women’s Economic Inclusion guide, serving as a reference for innovative women wishing to embark on their entrepreneurial journey.”

The meeting was marked by recorded interventions by the Ministers of Social Action and Women’s Affairs of Mauritania, Tunisia and Palestine, and by the Regional Director of the International Labour Organization for Africa.
