During his meeting with the presidents of the sections of the Algerian Hajj mission in Jeddah, the minister indicated that all flights to Jeddah proceeded smoothly.

In this regard, he commended the Jeddah office members for this success, which is also made possible with support from the Algerian Embassy in Saudi Arabia and the Consulate General in Jeddah.

During this meeting which was held in the presence of Algeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Cherif Oualid, Jeddah Consul General Mohamed Alem, National Hajj and Umrah Office (ONPO) Director General Salah Bouterfa and Jeddah Center President Badreddine Filali, Belmehdi noted that Air Algerie wrapped up its 67 Jeddah-bound flights on Monday.

He added that the preparations for the return to the country had begun, with the first flight scheduled for 20 June, after completing the Hajj rituals.

Belmehdi further urged mission members to provide attentive care for pilgrims, both during and after completing the Hajj rituals, exercising patience throughout.

In a post-meeting press statement, Belmehdi said that this meeting aimed to inquire about all the measures taken by the Jeddah center which welcomed half of the Algerian pilgrims, as well as to guide the members of the said center on properly preparing for the next stage, following the hajj rituals, namely the stage of return to the country.

The minister wrapped up by reassuring that the work will continue to meet the challenges and implement the recommendations of the President of the Republic who “has instructed us to ensure good care for the pilgrims.”
