Algerians celebrate Eid al-Adha in atmosphere of brotherhood, piety

ALGIERS- The Algerian people, like the other peoples of the Muslim Nation, celebrated Sunday Eid al-Adha in an atmosphere of brotherhood and piety, in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace upon Him).

From the early hours of dawn, worshipers began to flock to the mosques throughout the country, to welcome the sunrise of this blessed day with invocations and praises to Allah.

In an atmosphere of devotion, the faithful listened to the sermons of imams, who emphasized the significance of this religious festival, calling for embodying the values of solidarity and tolerance on this blessed day.

In their sermons, Imams also asked Almighty Allah to bestow upon our country, and the whole Muslim Nation, security, stability and prosperity, make our brothers in Palestine triumph over their enemies to liberate Al Aqsa Mosque from the Zionist aggressors.

After the Eid Prayer, the faithful performed the sacrifice of sheep "according to the tradition of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace Upon Him).

Eid al-Adha is an opportunity to pay visits to parents, relatives and families.

It is also an occasion to pay visits to patients in hospitals and to the graves of Muslim dead relatives, asking Almighty Allah to grant them His mercy and admit them in Paradise.
