The opening of this Fair, held under the slogan "Rural women, perseverance and creation,” was attended by the Ministers of Tourism and Handicrafts and of Environment and Renewable Energy, Mokhtar Didouche and Fazia Dahleb, respectively, of the Advisor to the President of the Republic, in charge of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Human Rights, Hamid Lounaouci, as well as representatives of national agencies and organizations.
In her address, Krikou said that this three-day Fair is "an annual event aimed at marketing the products of rural women in various fields".
She highlighted the cross-sector program initiated in 2021, following President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's directives. This program seeks to "intensify efforts to boost women's involvement in national production, with a focus on rural and stay-at-home women.”
The program, comprising training, support, and awareness-raising, encourages women to establish economic activities and small businesses. It has led to the creation of the "Exceptional Women's Guide,” which outlines support mechanisms for rural women producers and housewives, as part of the broader effort to foster female entrepreneurship.
