In an address, Hidaoui said the project was meant to carry out a "thorough study" on Algerian society, to "determine the needs of the youth, to provide a methodological and scientific basis for policies aimed at this category."
The minister welcomed "the fruitful and exemplary work done in collaboration with the UNDP in Algeria for the "empowerment of young people and an accurate diagnosis of their concerns and needs, which will contribute," he said, to supporting State efforts to promote and support the youth, especially in terms of entrepreneurship, employment and training."
The representative of the ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Fethi Metref, said "the importance of investing in youth and getting them involved in the development of the national economy."
He highlighted "the Youth ministry's support for young people to strengthen the UNDP cooperation plan."
The representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Algeria, Mohamed Selek Ahmed Othmane, welcomed the attention paid by the Algerian State to young people, noting that the project was an "essential" to get an accurate picture of the concerns of young people."
