ALGIERS- The Film “Le Pont” (The Bridge) by Algerian filmmaker Mohamed Tahar Chawki Boukaf obtained the Jury Prize of As-Suwayda Short Film Festival in its 5th edition whose festivities wrapped up in As-Suwayda in the South of Syria.

[ecr]  This work deals with the ongoing political practices in the third world countries, according to the filmmaker, through the history of a father and his son looking for a medical treatment.

Other films were awarded, like Lebanese film “Paradise” which received the Prize for the best film, the Prize of the best producer for the film “Jouri” by Syriazn director Yezen Anzour and the Prize for the best screenplay went to Syrian film “Behind the Scenes.”

The Film “The Bridge” has already won the Prize of the President of the Republic “Ali Maachi” for the young creators 2021 in its 15th edition, in addition to the first prize of the 3rd National Amateur Short Film Days in Bouira in 2021. It also received a spcial recognition of the jury of the cartoons contest of the 8th Aleandria Short Film Festival in Egypt in 2022. [/ecr]
