“Soula” awarded at Alexandria International Film Festival in Egypt

ALEXANDRIA (Egypt)- Algerian Director Salah Issaad's fiction movie “Soula” has won the Grand Prize at the 38th Alexandria International Mediterranean Film Festival (Egypt), which ended on Monday, the organizers said.

Nominated for the Best Feature Film Award, Soula (2021) also received the Best Ramses-Marzouk Photography Award, named after the famous Egyptian cinematographer who passed away in 2021.

Soula Bahri, Idir Benaibouche and Franck Yvrai star as main characters of this fiction, which was co-written by director Salah Issaad and Soula Bahri.

Screened as a world premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) in 2021, “Soula,” a social drama presented last March in Algiers, has participated in numerous festivals in Sweden, Jordan and Portugal where it has been honored several times.
