Arab Radio, Television Festival awards filmmaker Djaaffar Gacem

ALGIERS- The 22nd Arab Radio and Television Festival to be held next November 7-12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will award Algerian filmmaker Djaaffar Gacem, along with 11 other "pioneers of the media and the cinema" in the Arab world, Saudi media disclosed.

Organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), in collaboration with the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA)", the event will award 12 pioneers of the media and the cinema in the Arab world, in recognition of "their effective contributions to enriching media content in the Arab world."

 Screenwriter and producer, Gacem has made several successful sitcoms and soap operas, such as "Nass Mlah City" (2001), "Djemai Family" (2008) and Sultan Ashur X (2015).

He also made his first feature-length film, Heliopolis, in 2020, which was nominated twice for the Oscar Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
