Author Nassira Belloula wins, in Montreal, Award of Excellence 2022

ALGIERS- Algerian author Nassira Belloula won the Award of Excellence 2022 given by Fondation Club Avenir of Montreal in the Art section, in recognition of her “outstanding artistic contribution,” said the event’s organizers.  

[ecr]  This annual prize is based on the overall assessment of the personal work of every artist and its effects on the individuals.

It aims at “encouraging the talents that are out of the ordinary by their originality” and the abundance of their ideas at the service of the human progress and the development of the society.

Born in 1961, Nassira Belloula is a novelist, essayist and short story writer who was a journalist from 1993 to 2010 before settling in Canada where she registered at the University of Montreal in 2021 to study history and comparative literature.

She has been awarded several times at the national and international levels, including Arab Women’s Trophy (2010), Charles Gagnon Award (2019), both obtained in Canada, in addition to Kateb Yacine International Award for her novel “Land of Women” (2014), translated into Italian, Spanish and Tamazight. [/ecr]
