The 17-minute movie, written by the late Mohamed Adlene Bekhouche and produced by the Algerian Centre for Film Development (CADC), sheds light on the major role of children in the glorious National Liberation War (1954-1962).

The film relates the story of little Hocine, played by Abdelfatah Ghouini, who refuses that his dog be killed following a decision by the freedom fighters to get rid of dogs in the village, whose barking by night drew the attention of the enemy.

To ensure that his dog escapes such a fate, Hocine takes him to a hiding place in the mountain and continues to take care of him unbeknownst to his father, a freedom fighter.

One night, as he was on his way to the mountainous hiding place to feed his dog, he spotted a French Army patrol heading to the village where the freedom fighters were meeting. He hastens to warn the freedom fighters and manages to do it in time.

Through this first experience as a filmmaker, Kamel Rouini takes the viewer into a world full of humanity, by showing the contribution of children to the glorious National Liberation War.
