Organized by the High Commission for Amazighity (HCA), under the patronage of the President of the Republic, to mark the festivities of the Amazigh New Year 2974, this edition ceremony was attended by members of the Government, the Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of non-governmental organizations and human rights, Hamid Lounaouci, representatives of various organizations and institutions, and local and security authorities.
The President of the Republic's Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language comprises four categories: "Research into Amazigh Intangible Cultural Heritage", "Scientific, Technological and Digital Research", "Linguistics" and "Amazigh Literature Translated into Tamazight".
In the "Research into Amazigh Intangible Heritage" category, the jury, chaired by Youcef Necib, awarded first prize to Fadia Tidjelt, second prize to Hamida Chouchat and third prize to Rachida Fertouni.
In the "Scientific, Technological and Digital Research" category, the first prize went to Sandal Hacene, the second prize was not awarded while the third prize went to Tarek Iftene.
Nacer Mehdi received the first prize in the "Linguistics" category, the second prize went to Aicha Hadrani and the third prize to Mahrouche Mohamed El Hassan Ben Allaoua.
In the "Amazigh Literature Translated into Tamazight" category, the jury awarded the first prize to Alaeddine Tafssast, the second prize to Nedjmeddine Mouici and the third prize to Nacer Mezhoud.
Speaking at the ceremony to announce the results, HCA Secretary General Si El-Hachemi Assad stressed that this event "bears witness to the significant development of Amazighity in Algeria in recent years, through the State's efforts to enshrine this authentic identity dimension, both within institutions and through laws and legislation designed to contribute to the preservation of this linguistic and cultural legacy of our country."
On this occasion, Assad thanked the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune for his interest in creativity in Amazigh literature and language, as evidenced, he said, by the creation of this prestigious annual competition, which encourages the promotion of this language and culture.[/ecr]
