ORAN- A documentary film on the event of Sakiet Sidi Youcef (February 1958), produced by the Centre of Studies and Research on the nationalist movement and the Revolution of 1st November 1954, will be previewed on Wednesday in Algiers, announced Sunday Nour El Houda Bentardjallah, the center’s executive.

Bentardjallah underlined, on the sidelines of a conference on the 67th anniversary of the eight-day historical strike of the Algerian tradesmen, organized in the presence of the Minister of Mujahedeen and Right-Holders Laid Renigua and of the Secretary General of the General Union of the Algerian Tradesmen and Artisans (UGCAA) Issam Bedrissi, that this documentary film comes within the framework of the works of the National Center for stidies and research on the nationalist movement and the Revolution of 1st November 1954 devoted to the 60th anniversary of the independence and youth.

 

As part of the same works, eleven documentaries were scheduled, including that entitled “Petit Omar” which was recently presented to the public, in addition to four feature films dealing with the path of a group of leaders of the glorious liberation war, including Zighoud Youssef, Colonel Si El Haoues, Bouguerra and Larbi Ben M'hidi, according to the source.

 

According to Bentarjallah, the center has produced, so far, 33 documentaries, 11 feature films and 10 films on various themes related to the national movement, testimonies of mujahedeen and others.

 

As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the independence, 150 books were published, including the memories of the Revolution’s leaders, the works of historical conferences, magazines and others, adding that the number of works published by the Centre, since its creation, has reached 1,200 publications.

 

On the sidelines of this conference eon the eight-day strike (28 January-4 February 1957), the center has organized an exhibition of works and publications which attracted a large public.
