National meeting on investment mechanisms in film industry 

 

ALGIERS-The Minister of Culture and Arts held Tuesday in Algiers a national meeting on investment mechanisms in the cinema field with the participation of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) to allow the cinema professionals to get informed of the support the agency would provide to investors.

This meeting was enhanced by the presence of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, and the Advisor to the President of the Republic in charge of  Higher Education, Vocational Training and Culture, Mohamed Seghir Saadaoui and the Director General of AAPI, Omar Rekkache, the President of the Algerian Economic Revival Council (CREA), Kamel Moula, officials and representatives of public and private companies and several private investors from the cinematography world.

At the opening of this meeting, Mouloudji stressed that the meeting aimed at exploring film investment mechanisms as part of the efforts made previously, through a debate with experts and specialists.

“In 2020, the sector took the initiative to support several investment project leaders in the film industry,” recalled the minister, stressing that “many similar meetings were organized with AAPI executives to examine different mechanisms for grating lands for the implementation of investment projects in the field of cinema, in addition to the benefits and incentives provided by the Agency.”

Besides, she said that her sector was working with the Ministry of Finance through inter-ministerial Committees on the review of financing and supporting mechanisms for film production, the use of cinemas by private operators, tax facilitation guarantees and banking incentives for investment.[/ecr]
