On the occasion of the installation of the jury for the President of the Republic's Prize for Young Creators Ali-Maâchi, Mouloudji announced the decision of the President of the Republic to award two prizes, including the President of the Republic's Prize for Personalities of Culture and Science, which will be awarded to eminent personalities from the four corners of the world who have excelled in the fields of culture and science in the service of humanity and who have contributed to the dissemination of the values of peace through their works and creations.
The Prize will honour two emblematic world figures in the fields of culture, human sciences, science and technology, she added.
The second prize, awarded by the State, is the State Prize for the Arts and Literature, which will be awarded to personalities working on the Algerian cultural and artistic scene, according to the same source.
The jury for the Ali-Maâchi Prize of the President of the Republic for Young Creators, set up by the Minister, will be tasked with "assessing literary and artistic works."
Chaired by novelist and academic Wacini Laredj, the jury includes novelist and academic Saïd Benzerga, poet Slimane Djouadi, poet Brahim Seddiki, choreographer Riad Beroual, singer and musician Djamel Laroussi,
sculptor Rabah Benkedidah, theatre-maker Abdenacer Khellaf, actor Rachid Djerourou, film and television producer Mehdi Benaïssa, actor Hacène Benzerari and film journalist Mohamed Allal.
The Ali-Maâchi Prize of the President of the Republic for Young Creators is one of the main cultural events that promote and encourage young Algerians in various artistic, cultural and literary fields, added the source.
It is aimed at young Algerian artists under the age of 35, with financial rewards for the first three winners.
