The winners of this Grand Prize, organized by the National Publishing and Advertising Agency (ANEP), under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, were honored at a ceremony held at El Aurassi Hotel, in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji, the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Algeria, Fayez Abu Aita, as well as officials and personalities from the worlds of culture and the media.
The Assia Djebar Grand Prize for the novel in Arabic was awarded to Inaam Bayoud for "Houaria" (Mim Edition). The Tamazight-speaking novel prize went to Hachemi Kerach for his novel "1954, Thalalith n Ussirem" (Tira Editions), while the Prize for the novel in French went to Abdelaziz Otmani for "Sin, La Lne En Miettes" (Casbah Editions).
During the ceremony, ANEP offered the Minister of Culture and Arts a special award for the President of the Republic in recognition of his constant support for culture, creativity and the Assia Djebar Grand Prize.
The Grand Prize "testifies to the richness of the literary field, the vitality of the literary scene and the dynamism of publishing in our country,” said the minister.
"Algeria, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, will soon establish a system of honorary and incentive prizes designed to enrich the cultural and literary scene and encourage emulation in the fields of literary and artistic creativity,” she announced.
For the Mouloudji, Assia Djebar is "an exceptional role model in terms of her commitment to national culture and Algerian values and traditions, which she was keen to preserve in her works.”[/ecr]
