Accessible on www.sigculture.dz, the portal named "Geoportal" offers visitors a variety of functionalities allowing access to precise statistics and descriptive data on cultural infrastructures, cultural activities and events such as festivals in addition to world heritage sites (classified by UNESCO), archaeological sites and monuments, elements of intangible heritage, cultural parks as well as protected sectors.
The visitor can thus access the geolocation of protected archaeological sites and historical monuments of Algeria, with descriptive data relating to each of the sites.
The portal also offers the possibility to get informed about the number of associations active in the arts and culture sector, that of official festivals, the number of artists by discipline, in addition to a detailed presentation on cultural activities and establishments related to the sector across the country.
"Geoportal" is intended to be a digital showcase allowing visitors and actors active in the arts and culture sector to get in contact with different cultural structures and establishments, and to make proposals and remarks on the site at the address: sig@m-culture.gov.dz.
With the launch of this portal, the Ministry of Culture and Arts has just concretized one of the "commitments of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in terms of "digital transformation" and the generalization of the use of communication technologies, according to the statement.
