The audience followed with great interest the events of this theatrical work that lasted one hour, produced by the Algerian National Theatre (TNA) in cooperation with the Regional Theatre of Sidi Bel Abbes and the National Professional Theatre of SADR.
The play tells the story of the Sahrawi people’s resistance against the occupier, their determination to defend their land and their fierce struggle for self-determination through the central character (Dehba) who fiercely resists the enemy soldiers despite imprisonment and the most odious forms of psychological and physical torture.
Batna is the first stage of this play’s tour in several eastern province, according to Mona Mohamed Salem, the president of the Sahrawi National Theatre.
She underscored that "El Khotwa El Akhira" mirrors the suffering and persecution of the Sahrawi people in the occupied territories, and deals with the struggle and pugnacity of the Saharawi women who are fighting to preserve their ancestral customs and face to attempts to destroy the identity of their people.[/ecr]
