At the opening of the 11th National Cultural Festival of Melhoun Poetry, Mouloudji said, “Our great interest in Melhoun poetry in Algeria mirrors the Algerian State's commitment, led by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to preserve our tangible and intangible cultural heritage.”

She continued, “This heritage is an essential legacy of our civilization and serves as a strong bulwark for protecting identity and cultural memory.”

“In light of the numerous malicious attempts aimed at undermining our heritage, it is necessary to remind, especially the younger generations, that Melhoun poetry is a pure and authentic Algerian creativity and a quintessential Algerian cultural marker,” she emphasized.

The minister further highlighted the work of the poet Sidi Lakhdar Benkhelouf, founder of this poetic style in the Algerian dialect during the 16th century.
