Winner of Literary Prize in Spain, writer Yasmina Khadra thanks President of the Republic for his congratulations

ALGIERS- Algerian writer Mohamed Moulessehoul, known as Yasmina Khadra, expressed his gratitude to President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for his congratulations following his receipt of an international literary prize in Spain. He emphasized that this is "the first time" he has received congratulations from the President of the Republic.

[ecr] In a statement to Algerian Television, the novelist said he was "deeply touched" by these congratulations, which he described as "a joyous occasion."

He recalled that he has been awarded prizes in several countries, but this is the first time he has received congratulations from the President of the Republic.

While expressing his gratitude and pride, he said that these congratulations also reflect "the attention and interest of the President of the Republic in Algerian artists and intellectuals."

Mohamed Moulessehoul received the Mediterranean Writers' Parliament Prize, awarded recently at a ceremony in Valencia, Spain, for his "remarkable contributions to Mediterranean literature" and "his role in strengthening ties between peoples through the power of words."

In his congratulatory message to writer Mohamed Moulessehoul, the President of the Republic wrote on his official social media account: "To the valiant son of Algeria, Mohamed Moulessehoul, known as Yasmina Khadra... congratulations on this Prize awarded to you by Spain, a friendly country, which once again highlights your great talent in the field of novels.
