Tech4Good Global Competition: Algerian startup ranks second

ALGIERS- An Algerian startup, which proposes solutions based on artificial intelligence to deal with the issues facing farmers, ranked second in the final of the Tech4Good Global Competition, the company Huawei Algeria said on Sunday.

[ecr]  The Algerian team, “FARM AI,” presented before an international jury a project that is part of the empowerment of agriculture thanks to the artificial intelligence consisting in an early detection system of rust affecting wheat fields by using drones, said the source.

In the final, held on Thursday, the Algerian startup won a check of USD15 000. “FARM AI” will take part with two teams in another competition, scheduled for February, to obtain a sponsoring of USD100 000, added Huawei Algeria.

Tech4Good competition is a new project launched in 2021 by the big telecommunication giant Huawei as part of its leading training programme on digital competencies “Seeds for the Future.”

More than 120 students benefited, in Algeria, from the “Seeds for the Future” programme which is in its 8th edition, said Huawei Algeria.  [/ecr]
