This center will propose its services to national and international pharmaceutical laboratories wishing to carry out studies to prove that their generic medicines are equivalent to reference medicines in terms of efficiency and safety as well as interchangeability with reference medicines.
It will also make its services available to the administrative authorities in charge of registering pharmaceutical products, to service companies in the field of clinical trials, to the research institutions as part of biomedical research projects and also to the medical practitioners as part of clinical research.
Equival Biocenter will benefit from the expertise of four Indian experts with over 900 bioequivalence studies, in order to ensure the necessary technological transfer for the good functioning of the center, he said in the inauguration ceremony held in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production Ali Aoun.
The center, which a Saidal’s investment of DZD267 million (excluding the building), already has a database of 500 healthy volunteers ready to participate in clinical trials.
On this occasion, Aoun affirmed that “this new center will enable strengthening the control of pharmaceutical products in Algeria, to ensure the quality of the medicines manufactured local or imported from abroad.”
