Laagab calls, in Tunis, to rationalization in using artificial intelligence

ALGIERS- Minister of Communication Mphamed Laagab called Thursday, in Tunis, for the “moderation and rationalization” in the use of artificial intelligence, the ministry said in a statement.

In his speech at the wrap-up of the Arab Media Congress organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) under the theme “Media in Era of Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Opportunities,” Laagab dealt with the issue of the relation of man with technologies, underscoring that despite the apprehensions provoked by the ascent of an almost obsessional artificial intelligence, it would be wise to use it rationally and moderately.”

Laagab made sure to reference to the suffering of the Palestinian brothers, notably in Gaza, following the barbaric aggression of the Zionist entity.  

In this regard, he seized the opportunity to pay tribute to the memory of the journalists who fell as martyrs on the battlefield, shedding light on “the honorable heroic role of journalists on the ground in support of the Palestinian cause, in order to make the voice of justice and truth is heard,” added the source.

The works of ASBU Executive Council and General Assembly were marked by an strong participation of Algeria, represented by the directors general of the Algerian Radio, the Public Establishment of Television and the Television Broadcasting Algeria (TDA).
