Higher Education to keep rolling out training adapted to new socioeconomic needs

ALGIERS-The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, affirmed Monday that his sector carries on implementing training in line with the new socioeconomic needs, such as the manufacturing of electric cars, with a view to supporting the State’s approach towards encouraging national production.

Guest of the Forum of “El Moudjahid” daily, Baddari said that the sector’s strategy is based on several aspects, including “the continuation of implementing training adapted to new socioeconomic needs, such as the integration of automotive manufacturing, particularly electrical ones to achieve manufacturing electric cars by Algerians’ hands.”

In this regard, the ministry’s departments are working on “updating educational programs, with a view to improving the quality level of higher education and scientific research as well as enhancing the visibility of the Algerian university internationally, by carrying on the efforts to boost the ranking of university institutions that recorded encouraging results last year .

On this occasion, Baddari reviewed “the advances in the quality level of higher education and scientific research,” citing as an example “the move towards innovation, invention, entrepreneurship.”

The minister also gave a detailed presentation on the digitization of the sector, revolving around teaching activities, university works and structures, noting that this is part of the preparation for the approach towards “University 4.0” which is based on artificial intelligence and the use of modern means.[/ecr]
