Speaking at a study day organized by the Ministry of Health to mark National Mother and Child Protection Day, under the slogan "Protection of mothers and children, a renewed commitment," Saihi said that the strategic approach to protecting mothers and children was a public health priority and an integral part of the second national programme for healthcare of the sick.

The success of this strategy depends on "the building of resource centres to support mothers and children,"
he added.

These centres will be a "starting point for various activities relating to mothers and children, in order to promote coordination between local and national action to implement this national programme," he said.

The national approach adopted for this purpose is based on the "preventive aspect," in view of the key role played by this section of society, he added.

The Minister also said that "the digitization of all operations relating to this category will be concluded early next year," mentioning in this regard "the digitization of all vaccination operations and the passing of the health record stage." [/ecr]
