Diphtheria and malaria cases in some southern provinces: Civil Protection’s medical teams continue vaccination campaign

ALGIERS- The medical teams of the Civil Protection are proceeding with the vaccination campaign in Timiaouine (Bordj Badji Mokhtar) and Tin Zaouatine (In Guezzam), supporting the on-site medical teams following the outbreak of diphtheria and malaria cases in some southern provinces of the country, the Civil Protection said Wednesday in a press release.

“Following the instructions of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities, and National Planning, the medical teams of the Civil Protection are continuing the vaccination campaign in Timiaouine (Bordj Badji Mokhtar) and Tin Zaouatine (In Guezzam),” said the press release.

A joint medical mission from the Ministry of Health and the Civil Protection, equipped with a batch of medicines and necessary equipment to strengthen the care provided for the patients, was sent previously to the provinces of Bordj Badji Mokhtar and In Guezzam, following the instructions given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
