The minister delivered a speech on the occasion of the launch ceremony of this network, developed by Algeria Telecom (AT), in the presence of the Minister of Finance, Laaziz Faid, the Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, Tayeb Zitouni, the Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Sifi Ghrieb, and the High Commissioner for Digitization, Meriem Benmouloud.
In this regard, Zerrouki emphasized that the project “marks a new milestone mirroring the commitment of the Post and Telecommunications sector to supporting digital transformation efforts, which are key to sustainable socio-economic development,” highlighting that the project embodies the “constructive cooperation” between the Finance and Telecommunications sectors.
Algeria Telecom has connected 589 sites coming under DGDN through high-speed fibre optic technology, said the minister.
He further recalled that this project aligns directly with the vision of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at accelerating the digitization process and adopting reliable statistical systems as a basis for improving governance and supporting all sectors, particularly the State Domain.
Zerrouki also commended his sector’s efforts to strengthen international bandwidth capacity, develop fibre optic technologies, and expand fixed and mobile telephone network coverage, within an integrated approach seeking to ensure a modern and developed infrastructure.
