ALGIERS- Member of the Council of the Nation, Abdelhak Brahimi, highlighted Algeria's progress in terms of digital transformation during his participation in the Arab International Forum on Digital Cooperation and Development in Amman, Jordan.

[ecr] During a session on "the role of parliamentarians in achieving effective digital governance in the Arab region," Brahimi said that digital transformation is now "one of the main priorities of Algeria's national policy" and "one of the

commitments of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as part of the comprehensive reforms that have laid the foundations for a new Algeria."

This approach is reflected in the implementation of digital transformation to improve communication and expand the use of information and communication technologies (ICT), particularly in public service administrations, as well as the

optimization of economic governance.

In the same regard, Brahimi said that digital governance in Algeria is of "paramount importance," not only at the national level but also at the regional and international levels, particularly concerning Arab-African digital partnerships.

The forum's proceedings will focus on strengthening multilateral cooperation in ICT, the digital economy, and digital transformation to achieve sustainable development in the region, in addition to the future of digitization at the regional and

international levels, the Council's statement added. [/ecr]
