During the meeting granted at the ministry’s headquarters by the Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ouacim Kouidri, to the WHO representative heading a significant delegation, both parties examined “Algeria’s means and capabilities in pharmaceutical industry in terms of medicine production and various medical devices, as well as the system adopted for drug registration,” added the same source.
Phanuel highlighted that “Algeria plays a key role in the pharmaceutical sector, enabling it to rank among the top African nations capable of meeting their own medicine demands.”
Phanuel also extended a special invitation to Algeria to participate in the WHO global forum for the benefit of countries producing pharmaceutical products.
The minister praised the development of the pharmaceutical industry sector in Algeria, emphasizing that it will begin, before the end of the year, the production of raw materials for the manufacture of anticancer drugs, and that the doors for partnership and investment in the pharmaceutical industry remain open in Algeria, concluded the press release.
