KUWAIT, Nov 9 (KUNA) -- The 26th Gulf Cup football tournament draw, which was held on Saturday, placed Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman in Group A, while Group B included Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Yemen.
Kuwait headed Group A as the tournament host, which will be held from 21 December to 3 January, while Iraq headed Group B as the title holder of the previous game.
Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and Al-Sulaibikhat Club Stadium will host the tournament. This is the fifth time that the country will host the Gulf Cup, following 1974, 1990, 2003, and 2017.
Kuwait leads the number of times it has won the tournament with ten times, followed by Iraq with four times, followed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar with three times, while Oman and the UAE have won the title twice, and finally Bahrain with one title. (end)
