PARIS, Nov 12 (KUNA) -- The French Foreign Ministry summoned Israel ambassador Joshua L. Zarka in protest at Israeli security forces entering Eleona site, a French property in the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem.
The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that the Israeli ambassador was informed that the presence of Israeli armed forces at the site and the arrest of two staffers of the French Consulate in Jerusalem were "unacceptable."
Necessary measures will be taken to ensure non-recurrence of such acts especially between two "allies with strong ties," according to the statement.
On November 7 the Israeli forces entered the site and detained two French security officials with diplomatic status during the visit of Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot to the city.
The two French officials were released later on but the incident resulted in a diplomatic row between the two countries. (end)
