KUWAIT, Nov 14 ((KUNA) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya on Thursday held talks with the visiting Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassem Al-Budaiwi, examining preparations for Kuwait's takeover of the GCC next session's chairmanship and its planned hosting of the GCC summit.
Following the meeting, minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, on behalf of the State of Kuwait Government, and the GCC secretary general, signed the treaty of setting up the headquarters of the GCC Joint Program Production Institution -- with attendance of the institution's Director General Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Minister Al-Yahya indicated at instructions by Their Highnesses leaders of the GCC states for boosting integration among the Arabian Gulf countries, attaining sustainable development and prosperity for peoples of the region.
Moreover, he affirmed the State of Kuwait's support for the joint Gulf institutions to undertake their tasks perfectly, in line with the efforts for attaining the aspired inter-GCC merger and contributing to the council's vision toward enhancing stability, socio-economic prosperity as well as cementing the brotherly bonds among the GCC peoples.
For his part, Al-Budaiwi boasted of the joint institution's tangible achievements for enriching the Gulf media output, bolster unity and cooperation among the GCC and produce purposeful and inspiring programs that mirror the common values, traditions and the Gulf genuine identity. (end)
