BRUSSELS, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- EU lead spokesperson Peter Stano confirmed on Thursday that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will present a formal proposal next Monday, to officially suspend EU political dialogue with the Israeli occupation.
The proposal that will be presented during the upcoming meeting EU foreign ministers that will take place in Brussels came due to Israeli violations of human rights and international law in the Gaza Strip.
Since the suspension of political dialogue with the Israeli occupation government depends on unanimity among EU member states, it is likely that Borrell's proposal will be rejected, Stano explained.
Borrell's proposal is based on the EU-Israel Association Agreement, which contains legally binding provisions on human rights.(end)
