TEHRAN, Jan 15 (KUNA) -- Iranian local authorities announced on Wednesday that a training aircraft crashed near the city of Rasht in Gilan province in the north of the country, killing its three-person crew.
Iranian state television quoted the Iranian police media center as saying, "The plane crashed due to a technical malfunction, which resulted in the deaths of the pilot, his co-pilot and the flight engineer." The plane belonged to the Iranian police and was on a mission from the capital, Tehran, to Gilan province, it added. (end) mw.aa
