GAZA, Jan 18 (KUNA) -- The Israeli occupation, although a deal to silence the guns and free prisoners is in the offing, has resumed ferocious attacks on Gaza killing 23 Palestinians and wounding 83 others.
The Gaza health authorities reported on Saturday that the occupation army committed, over the past 24 hours, three massacres against families in Gaza Strip. The bodies of 23 martyrs were dispatched to hospitals; in addition to 83 wounded who needed treatment.
A number of the latest aggression victims remained under the rubble and left unattended on the roads as medics could not reach them amid recurring shooting by the occupation troops' firing.
The death toll of the aggression on Gaza has hit 46,899 mortalities, with 110,725 injured, since its launch in October 2023.
The big guns had roared again although a truce is due to take effect early Sunday with planned start of releasing prisoners from the two sides.
Meanwhile, local authorities in Gaza have begun removing huge heaps of devastated buildings and properties in anticipation of return of many displaced. It was also reported that Palestinian police were being deployed to protect properties. (end) wib.rk
