ERBIL, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Ministry of Interior said Friday that two members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) were killed in a clash with the security services in Zakho district of Duhok Governorate, Kurdistan region, north Iraq.
The clash took place when the PKK militants attacked the police forces during a security campaign in the area, according to a statement from the Ministry.
In an earlier statement, the Ministry accused the PKK of killing two security personnel and a member of the border guards while patrolling the border area between Duhok and Turkiye.
The separatist PKK group is designated as a terrorist organization by Turkiye, Iraq, the United States, the European Union and several other countries. (end)
