GAZA, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- The health authorities in Gaza Strip said Saturday that 50 injured and sick people have crossed into Egypt, through Rafah border crossing to receive medical treatment abroad.
The medical trip, organized in collaboration with the World Health Organization, is the first since the closure of the border crossing in last May, according to a press release from the health authorities.
The brutal offensive of the Israeli occupation forces on Gaza Strip led to complete destruction of the health facilities, and the killing or arrest of medics.
During the 15-month aggression, the Israeli occupation forces took hold of Rafah city and Philadelphia Corridor - a 14 km.-long strip of land along the southwestern borders of Gaza Strip. (end) wab.gb
