RIYADH, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Al-Budaiwi sent a message to Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa to congratulate him on assuming the leadership of the country in the transitional stage.
Al-Budaiwi expressed confidence that President Al-Shara's wise leadership will help realize the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, stability and prosperity, the GCC Secretariat said in a statement on Saturday.
He renewed the GCC's firm support to Syrian people in the transitional stage and to all efforts aiming to maintain the country's unity, sovereignty and independence. (end) ash.gb
