6.5 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Western Canada
Ottawa, 16 Sep (ONA) —- An earthquake measuring 6.5 magnitude on
the Richter scale struck off the coast of Port McNeill in British
Columbia, western Canada.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the epicenter of the quake
was in the Pacific Ocean, at a depth of about 10 km.
There were no reports of casualties or material losses as a result
of the earthquake, and no tsunami warning was issued.
