September 17, 2024 (PORT SUDAN) – Sudan’s Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Bashir Abunommo, discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation in the mining sector with a visiting Russian delegation on Tuesday. “We had productive discussions on expanding bilateral trade and investment, especially in mining,” Minister Abunommo stated after a meeting with a Russian delegation led by Viktor Chimodanov, Chairman of the Russian-Sudanese Business Council, and Andrey Chernovol, Russian Ambassador to Sudan. “Russia’s expertise in modern mining technologies is of great interest to us,” he added. The meeting is part of a series of visits between officials from the two countries to enhance bilateral economic and industrial relations in different sectors.
