In eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, fierce fighting is still raging  between the army and M23 rebels. They have been fighting particularly in the Masisi and Lubero areas of North Kivu. The Congolese army says it has launched a counteroffensive, after the M23 captured the strategic town of Masisi.
