In a move to strengthen corporate risk management and ensure business continuity, the Government of Dubai has implemented a new Succession Planning System for its Emirati employees. The system, approved by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, aims to identify and prepare top-performing employees for critical roles within government entities. The Executive Council Resolution No. (81) of 2024 mandates the implementation of the Succession Planning System across all government entities, excluding those on temporary contracts, special contracts, secondments, and retirees, according to a statement by the Dubai Media Office (DMO).
