A barber was attacked and robbed at knifepoint by a masked man who stole BD300 and damaged the salon. Police have identified and arrested the suspect as a 28-year old, who is also linked to a similar crime in the past. He has been charged with armed robbery, assault, and criminal damage, with the First High Criminal Court setting 25 November for the verdict. The victim described the terrifying incident, explaining that the suspect entered the salon claiming to retrieve sunglasses and headphones he had left there two days prior. However, before leaving, the man noticed a paper envelope containing BD150 belonging to the barber and another BD150 from the day’s earnings. After pocketing the cash, the suspect began smashing the salon’s furniture and equipment. When the barber tried to intervene, the man struck him, causing injury, before continuing his rampage. Police identified the suspect from security footage, and the victim later confirmed his identity by his voice, physical build, and distinctive bicycle. The defendant admitted during questioning that the attack stemmed from an argument over his forgotten belongings.
