Bahraini tennis players demonstrated outstanding performances in the Super Singles category of the 36th GPIC Open Tennis Championship, organised by Bahrain Tennis Club and sponsored by the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC). The quarterfinals of the Super Singles competition took place on Sunday, November 17, highlighting Bahrain’s success. Reigning champion Hassan Abdulnabi advanced to the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Filipino player Nino Remonde. He is set to face his brother and national teammate Elyas Abdunnabi, who also secured a semifinal spot after defeating Redha Hassan 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, Bahraini player and last year’s runner-up, Yusuf Qaed, continued his impressive form to reach the semifinals, where he will compete against Filipino player Janji Soquino, who advanced after defeating Dutch player Lucian Hoogenboom 6-1, 6-0. The Super Doubles quarterfinals will be held on Sunday, November 24 at 8:30 pm with matches including the duo of Abdul Latif Mohammed and Ahmed Janahi facing brothers Hassan and Elyas Abdunnabi, while Faisal Ahmadi and Ariel Baldivino will meet Jic Jic Bohol and Renneir Rene Jaum.
