The Interior Ministry secured first place in the Arab world for the best operational information field cooperation that led to the arrest of drug trafficking networks. The recognition was part of the annual awards organised by the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council and presented during a conference for the heads of anti-drug authorities in member states. The Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science affirmed that the success of the Anti-Drug Committee is attributed to the instructions and support of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior. He also hailed the follow-up of Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, the Chief of Public Security, to develop a training system for the security workforce. He highlighted that the accomplishment was part of the directorate’s efforts to fight illicit drugs and their risks to the community. He noted that the information and operational cooperation between the anti-drug agencies from other countries has led to solving many drug cases and the strengthening of anti-drug efforts. He emphasised that cooperation would continue according to well-studied plans and approaches to achieve strategic goals.
