Police in the emirate of Fujairah arrested a camp owner and a number of residents for breaking National Day celebration rules, the authorities announced on Monday. The revellers used party sprays to commemorate Eid Al Etihad, which is against the regulations announced by the Ministry of Interiors. The arrested individuals were observing “in an improper manner that has nothing to do with Union Day,” the authority added in an Instagram post. According to the regulations, the public is expected to avoid organising or participating in random marches and gatherings, adhere to all traffic regulations and follow instructions issued by police officers. In addition to this, motorists, passengers, or pedestrians should refrain from using party sprays. On Sunday, Fujairah Police also arrested a number of reckless drivers in the Al Faqit area. As residents celebrate Eid Al Etihad and enjoy the final long weekend of the year, authorities urged the public to adhere to all necessary rules and guidelines.
